ZZ Plant

The ZZ plant keeps water in thick underground rhizomes, so it prefers to run dry between drinks. Wait until the compost is nearly dry, then water well. Overwatering is the main risk.

Once established this plant rarely needs watering. Alerts are worth acting on mainly in a long dry spell or in its first year.
