How long does a probe last before it needs replacing

Asked by plantsense on 26 July 2026 Answered

It depends on the probe type. Capacitive probes, which we fit and recommend, have no exposed metal and last for years in the soil. The older resistive style, with two bare metal prongs, corrodes and drifts within weeks to months. If you are using capacitive probes, replacement is rare.
