Where do your watering figures come from

Every threshold in our plant database is worked out from published irrigation science and tested on a calibrated monitor, not lifted off a seed packet. Each plant page shows how confident we are in its figure. Where we are unsure, we say so rather than inventing a number that looks authoritative.
