Why must the probe go to 3V3 and not 5V

Asked by plantsense on 26 July 2026 Answered

The board’s analogue input can only safely accept up to its own low voltage. Powering the probe from 5V can push more voltage into that input than it can take, and may damage the board. Always power the probe from the 3V3 pin. This is the one wiring mistake worth being careful about.
